My cryptid ornament collection

Introducing the Cryptid Collection found exclusively at my Etsy Shop ~ Ornamental Gal!

If you’ve been following me along on this year’s March Meet the Maker journey, then you know I’ve started a slight rebrand and am concentrating on creating and celebrating all things cryptid!  It all started with a trip to the pacific Northwest and Sampson the Sasquatch was born.  I enjoyed researching Sasquatch and learning the different names and descriptions he goes by across the country.  Not long after I was listening to my favorite podcast titled Lore and became intrigued by Aaron Mahnke’s story about the myth and legend of the Mothman of Point Pleasant, WV (Episode 47: Missing the Point)  I immediately started doing my own research and planned a trip to see the TNT Area and the Silver Bridge.  Although I did not catch a glimpse of the Mothman, I was inspired to create an ornament in his likeness.  Debuting them both at craft shows that year I was surprised that so many people had the same fascination with cryptids as I do.  I enjoyed talking with you all about visiting the Mothman museum in West Virginia.  It was fun hearing about trips you’ve taken searching for Sasquatch.  I was asked several times what other cryptids I would be creating.  The next in line was a local guy, our very own Ohio Grassman (Ohio’s very own Bigfoot!)  He of course was another hit and that pretty much cemented the course my shop would take.

I’ve got so many more fun creatures to create and can’t wait to share them all with you! I’d love to hear what Cryptids you’d like to see ~ Please drop a comment below and I might be able to fill your request!

Hugs, Jodie
